In addition to the support via collaboration with the Swedish member organisations, the Olof Palme International Center currently run several multi annual country programmes for strengthened democratisation and support to human rights in direct cooperation with local civil society organisations in the Western Balkans.
In the coming period, focus will be on increased transparency and accountability of public officials, institutions and civil society representatives in order to strengthen the process of democratisation and access to decision making for citizens and particularly under-represented groups. The Palme Center seeks partnership with likeminded organisations in the region to fulfil our mission as described in the Western Balkans Strategy 2012-2015.
A general description of the expected results of the programmes starting in 2012 can be found in the Results Assessment Frameworks below. Potential partners are encouraged to study these before proposing project ideas.
