Work for peace and conflict resolution is also central to the center’s programme. This is not about naïve pacifism, but rather preventing war and the constructive resolution of conflicts. Naturally, work for democracy and human rights is absolutely crucial for working for peace.

The center’s programme rests on the idea of collective security, a global security that must rest on international law and joint solutions among different interests. Disarmament negotiations and multilateral efforts to prevent war are of the greatest importance. Terrorism must be countered effectively, within the framework of international law and human rights.

The center encourages dialogue and negotiations between parties in conflict. The whole concept of security is not just military, but also has a human dimension: human security.
